The Importance of Food

A person can also choose to eat healthier fats, such as olive or canola oil, instead of saturated or trans fats.

A person can buy locally grown or organic foods to support local businesses and help the environment by reducing pollution from transportation of goods. A person can also eat kosher or halal foods to follow Jewish and Islamic traditions. Finally, a person can save money on groceries by shopping at discount stores or using coupons. A person can also make his or her own food by cooking at home. Cooking allows a person to control the ingredients in his or her meals, which is important for people who have allergies or sensitivities to certain foods.
